Sending things to USA is still super expensive, and it keeps GOING UP IN PRICE. It is insane, and frankly, daylight robbery as far as I am concerned. Currently costs $175.00 in Kiwi money, to send into USA with DHL as the ONLY option, for the weight and value of the product. That's US$102.97 in the greenback for our American chums, and that is ONLY for the postage - the product cost is additional to that. Robbery. NZ Post HAVE now made a cheaper rate into America at about $32 in our money(US$18.82 or so American), but the declared value has to be $150 or less. Actual value is more then that, but I am thinking about just putting it down as $150. I mean.....it's MY product, so I can legally decide the value, and technically speaking, there is nothing illegal about my deciding that the value of the product is less then it really is........I'm the seller, I set the prices. Perhaps not totally ethical, but it would get me around this problem. Do people in USA still want the CMM2G2 unit? Edited 2026-09-04 10:10 by Grogster Smoke makes things work. Holly cow, I didn't realise it had gone up that much. Is that the new tariffs affecting their incoming post? I had head from a couple of my clients that they stopped exporting to the USA, when they quote the price, plus the tariff, its really expensive for the USA buyer and the quote is rejected. So they are concentrating on Asia and Euro markets. When one door closes, another opens. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

NZ Post will say it is the tariffs, but I don't think it is, really. I personally think they are just milking it for all they can get. It's probably more of a half-truth. DHL or FedEx have always been very expensive, and they certainly have their place for those who want speedy delivery all over the planet. But for those who don't care if it takes a little longer, all WE want is a basic tracked airmail service - which NZ Post now seem to offer. Tariffs WILL be a part of the issue, but not so much that it affects the freaking postage price THAT much - that is INSANE. This weekend, I will update my website to re-enable USA sales of the CMM2G2 and also put up on my website, the PM3 board. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
